How To Learn CSS

CSS

SS (Cascading Style Sheets) is a language used for describing the presentation of a document written in a markup language (i.e. HTML).

Members will share strategies, tools, online learning programs, tips, and more. Marjorie Ray will provide a short introduction to CSS, then we’ll discuss selectors, siblings, attributes, flexbox, SASS, and more. We’ll also look at how to use the Customizer to make simple changes to your WordPress site using CSS.

All levels welcome.

Making a Theme Your Own: Child Themes, Custom CSS, and More

You found a theme you love, but it’s not quite perfect. Aside from theme options, what tools do you have at your disposal to customize your new theme? In this workshop, Alex Martines of Just Peachy Consulting & Web Design will share some of the ways you can easily change the design and functionality of a WordPress theme, from Child Themes to custom CSS and using the Inspector to edit your theme’s PHP files yourself. No CSS or PHP knowledge required – we’ll be working in the code, but not writing much of it ourselves. Attendees will want to come with a computer and their own WordPress site they can use as a sandbox, if possible.
